In spite of all the negative critics I've heard about this film, I liked it. The story was original in a way because it focuses on Robin Longstride, aka Robin Hood, but before he became an outlaw. So no tricks with the Sheriff of Nottingham and no stealing of the rich to give to the poor, this Robin Hood film is about how and why Robin Longstride was outlawed, the beginnings of his love story with Lady Marianne... which I just learnt was "Marion" in English.
So, I spent a nice time, the music was good and the characters credible. I didn't like Gladiator, contrary to many, many people, so I guess I didn't feel the disappointment/betrayal Gladiator fans experienced (or so I've heard). And I'm really not a fan of Russell Crowe. I simply saw Robin Hood not as the return of Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe's collaboration, but as a new film by itself.
